Did you know that you need 8-10 hours of sleep every
night?

You may not have the energy to play if you get too little
sleep!

Your body needs plenty of sleep! Sleep is how your body gets ready
for the next day. You don't work hard while sleeping, but your brain
is sorting through the day and preparing for tomorrow.
If you don't get enough sleep, you can't think clearly
and are grumpy. You may not do as well at school or in sports. That's
no fun!

Here are some tips to make sure you get your 8-10 hours
of rest:
- Choose drinks without caffeine at night. The caffeine in soda
and hot chocolate makes it difficult to fall sleep.
- Eat enough food at dinner, but not too much. Your stomach may
hurt if you eat a big supper.
- Being active is great! But if you are playing up until bedtime,
you will probably have trouble sleeping.
- Avoid scary TV shows and movies at night!
- If you have a lot of thoughts or feelings that are making it hard
to fall asleep, talk to your parents or an adult.
