The inner planets, listed in order from the Sun, are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars!

Now, get ready for the big outer planets! All of the outer planets are gigantic balls of gas that have rings and orbiting moons.

Jupiter is the 1st of the outer planets. It is the 5th planet from the Sun, and is also the biggest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is so big that 1,300 Earths could fit inside it! It is a big ball of gas that does not have any solid surfaces. Jupiter also has 16 moons that circle, or orbit, it. Jupiter constantly has crazy weather! It has had a hurricane-like storm three times the size of the Earth raging on its surface for more than 300 years!

Saturn is the 6th planet from the Sun. It is the second largest planet in our solar system and it is famous for its wide and bright rings. Saturn is butter-colored, is the 2nd of the outer planets, and it has many rings and moons surrounding it.

Do you know any of the other outer planets?
