Nutrition Link Logo Fast Food - Part A

Fast food is quick, easy, and inexpensive.

But, it contains a lot of fat and it does not have many vitamins and minerals!

We all know what happens if you eat too much fat. Too much fat causes plaque to build up in your arteries, can make you gain weight, and it can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

Everyone needs to eat some fat to live, but many people eat too much. Most people need to eat no more than 65 grams of fat a day. Did you know that some fast food burgers actually have more than 65 grams of fat! That means one burger could have all the fat you need for the entire day!

Does this mean you can not eat fast food? Actually, it is OK to eat it, but be sure to eat it in moderation by balancing it with healthy food choices.

What are some choices you can make to eat healthier at a fast food restaurant?
